Dr. Amr Saleh explained that Egypt ranks 4th in “Moverz” according to the US News and World Report
Professor of political economy and former advisor to the World Bank Dr. Amr Saleh explained that Egypt ranks 4th in “Moverz” according to the US News and World Report. Egypt has been chosen according to the measure of expected economic momentum, he declared.
Over the phone to (Cairo Local Time), he said that the report measures the capability of the countries to overcome the latest difficulties. Egypt was one of the countries, he reassured, that had a high rate of growth in 2020 due to the economic reform the state had undertaken since 2014, while most of the countries had a negative rating.
Dr. Saleh added that these indicators have made the country able to overcome the latest limited impacts of the COVID19, thus we were among the most important ten countries that were able to face economic difficulties and dilemmas.
He stated the factors that international economic institutions rely on when classifying a country saying that Egypt is a promising economy. Referring to the International Finance Institution Bank, he quoted it as saying that in 2018 the country had begun its rate of growth using unemployment rating jobs and motivated its infrastructure. According to him, this was our success story.
He believes that the first principle in political economy is political stability after years of instability, thanks to the political regime that saved the country and its capability in creating success.
(Cairo Local Time) is aired from Saturday to Thursday. This episode is presented by Engy Maher.
